Préma-Québec is the only organization in the province that comes to the aid of parents of premature children. Yet every year in Québec, 8% of births take place before term. Founded in 2003 by preemie parents, the association is supported by doctors, nurses, and other professionals working in neonatology.
Préma-Québec regularly holds discussion groups at six neonatal units in Quebec. It organizes annual training sessions for healthcare professionals, and holds activities to raise awareness about prematurity among the general public.
We want to:
Préma-Québec's mission is to improve the quality of life of premature children by offering psychological and financial support to their parents.
Listening to the needs of parents and offering appropriate services are at the heart of Préma-Québec's concerns. The entire team works in this direction in order to promote Préma-Québec and the cause of prematurity throughout the world, and to share a message of hope with all those who live this reality in spite of themselves.

Opening
Préma-Québec was founded in the spring of 2003 by parents of premature children from across the province. Supported by doctors, nurses, and others professionals working in neonatology, Préma-Québec was born of necessity.
Our association brings together all premature children (born before the 37th week of pregnancy) and their families, as well as everyone who has the cause of premature children at heart.
Préma-Québec has built a solid reputation over the years thanks to the excellence of its services.
It takes a village to raise a child but also to support a parent.
And that’s particularly true for parents of preemies. Everyone has a role to play, from qualified medical personnel and parents who’ve gone through similar experiences to professionals and people like you. No matter how you help – by donating, become a partner or sponsor, taking part in the Walk for Preemies, volunteering, or holding a fundraiser – your contribution is crucial.

Every day, 16 babies are born prematurely in the province. They struggle to live one hour at a time. Parents with drawn faces try to do their best for their little ones.
As someone who has been affected by prematurity myself, I have witnessed parents worried, stressed and, above all, helpless at their babies' bedsides. Weathering the storm of prematurity is a challenging experience. It takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to support the families of premature babies. Fortunately, Préma-Québec is there to help them.
Driven to demystify this cause, which annually affects over 6,000 families in Quebec, I joined the organization's Board of Directors three years ago. Since then, I've had a front-row seat to the inspiring growth of our services and team. Families, volunteers, neonatologists, nurses, donors, financial partners, and employees: supporting the cause with you is a real honour; thank you!
